Soulful Reminiscence
As teens we arrived here, our eyes lit with Anxiety and Hope.
We hardly had anything in common, yet our differences mingled into one.
We compromised and adjusted, into the realms of NIT Jsr we finally fitted.
Tasteless food and heaps of syllabus, strict wardens and banal professors.
Flying high at Shimla Point, the frequent treats at Sudha Point.
Buying stationeries from NIT Store, going to Bistupur for no reasons at all!
Jubilee Park, Sakchi and Brubeck gave us splendid moments,
Reflections of Utkarsh and Ojass dwell deep in our hearts.
Holi and Diwali filled us with light, we celebrated Life with utmost Delight.
Parties, restaurants, dance and fashion... We left no stones unturned.
Movies, series and Korean crushes, Vampire dreams and bunking classes.
Undying attempts at quiz competitions, project pangs and proxies elan.
Valiant and fearless, we stood against wrongs, strikes and protests we endured it all.
Late night gossips and last night preparations, secret talks and bitching sessions.
Antakshari and hot debates, BBC and volleyball connections.
Morning walks and black-out hardships, birthday bumps and unplanned trips.
Midnight phone-calls and naughty pranks, divisive cold wars and catfights,
Cooking and eating delicacies our own style, saviors were always the maggi nights!
Those TV room duels and common-room meetings, Cricket, badminton and TT evenings.
The untold romances and the bitter heartbreaks, some found love and some still fuss.
Seniors' scoldings and juniors' love, tensions of placements gnawed into us.
We grew and spread out wings to fly everywhere, yet the child in us wants to stay here.
In a few days we will miss each other, and every little thing that we did together.
Through a saga of grand farewells, we glide away with Hopes of a brighter tomorrow,
In our hearts we bear sorrow, the pain of parting pricks us like an arrow.
The sun has set at last, we shall only carry the shadows of the past,
The myriad of emotions and the string of memories will forever remain attached to us.
